My name is Vivian Stone. I have been a teacher for 18 years. Of those eighteen years, I have taught BD (Behavior Disorder), fifth grade math ,and fifth grade reading, and fourth grade, prior to my current assignment as a Title I Reading Teacher. I attended Malden High School for three years before transferring and graduating from Central High School in Grand forks, ND. I continued to further my education by attending Southeast Missouri State University where I received a BS degree in Education. I later transferred to Southwest Baptist University and in 2000 I received a Masters Degree in education.
I am married to Tracy Stone, and all four of our daughters are graduates of Malden High School. I feel we have a very good school here in Malden, but with the support and assistance from parents, our school can be better. As an educator, I Know there has been a change in learning. Honesty, courtesy, and a concern for other individuals, are being replaced by competition and individualism. I strongly believe this change can be reversed through my own efforts and the assistance of dedicated parents.
As a parent, please remember; learning does not end at 3:15, it continues at home. With your assistance, we can establish effective communication and guidance that is beneficial to the learning process of your child. I am looking forward to our partnership in your childs education.
